I am obsessed with New York City’s theatre scene. I especially love watching the strong women who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. I also love writing letters. I’ve written a ton of letters to people who work on Broadway, as well as performers, producers, and artists who have worked in New York’s many cabaret clubs. For me, writing letters is a tangible connection to the world of NYC theatre that I so desperately want to be a part of.

I love seeing strong women share their voices and tell stories through art. I love hearing about where they came from, and how their hometown, high school, and college experiences influenced the careers they have today. In my opinion, one of the best ways to inspire the next generation of theatre people is showing them that the people who they look up to had similar beginnings to their own. There are a few people from my hometown who have made it on Broadway, which is something that inspires me endlessly. My hope for my readers is that they see a little bit of themselves in the women on this blog and that it inspires them to chase their dreams, whatever that dream may be.
